It seems that every college has tried to emulate Penn State's White Out (probably with sponsor involved) and it usually comes off as contrived. I mean, an Orange Our, for example, just doesn't have the same ring to it.

I'm an Illini fan. We just beat USC. Lost to Indiana last week by 53. Imagine hearing these words even 5 years ago? And I guess I'm fine with it?

On your final paragraph -- The thought of [not precisely, but something like] traveling on Amtrak with my friends up to Chicago to see Oasis at Soldier Field was absolutely what I was craving during the heights of the pandemic shutdowns five years ago, and something that I probably wouldn't have done had I not been forced to realize how important big events like those (or major sporting events like what you're describing here) are to me as a result of those lonely days.

The one thing I can’t figure out is why Penn State doesn’t wear all white for the game, I know that the blue jersey is their home uniform, but I think the team in all white will add to the atmosphere
